Hail Vikings!!

Having given this some serious thought over the last few months, I think Alberta and the Sons of Fenrir are ready to kick off the season with a special trainer on the May long weekend.

-Date:May 17/18/19/20

-location: Rosebud Run Sleddog Society. 5 minutes outside of Didsbury, Alberta

We have done a show for this town and were treated like royalty! They are also very excited to be able to host an event like this for us.

We have final approval from the Didsbury council for access to the site.

Itinerary of the whole weekend will be distributed to Jarls and RTT's. Scheduling and who is doing what.

Firewood will be supplied..Spruce aged 2 years. Heated outhouses! We spoil you rotten!

Cost to you? Gas to get here, Camping is free. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND WATER!. Town is a 5 minute drive with lots of amenities. That's it.

- Basic layout: The idea is to have this event open to every group in Vikings Vinland. Wives,family , dogs...

-Starting Friday the site will be open from 2pm onwards. Site will shut down the Monday at 3pm.

-Village set-up, both a period accurate camp and a plastic camp will there.

-Early Saturday morning RTT's will meet, training all day Saturday, trainers will be there to help all warriors understand their assessments and various weapons they will be using.

-Village crafting lessons, nalbinding, tablet weaving, village display with villager assessments all throughout the weekend.

-War games and circles at the end of the day with lots of live action saga telling and fire stories at night.

- Sunday...Assessments. All day. Sunday night recuperate and rejoice. More saga telling.

-Monday, Final wrap up. Clean up any loose ends. Village tear down and clean up.. we want this site to be as clean as we came, there will be a long term relationship with these people!

ITINERARY FOR THE WEEKEND !

FRIDAY!!!

Camping from 11.00 a.m

Turn up when you want (as long as it’s after 11.00 a.m).

Meet and greet and put your name in the register

Warm welcome sitting round the campfires and thank you for attending.

SATURDAY

8.45 a.m R.T.T. meeting,

9:00 a.m Muster for ALL warriors in full kit ( no excuses )

RTT's will let you know who they are and what training they are doing.

9:30 a.m. Training for Basic combat/Basic display, Formation.

9.30 a.m Training for Archery/ Advanced combat/dane axe / 2 handed spear /Florentine.

10:00 a.m. Living History /Crafts and Village Training in the LHE

12.30 p.m. Break for lunch

1:30 p.m. Start back on your training / and more L.H. Skills

2.30 p.m. Training finishes ...Unless more training is required in certain fields.

2:30 to 4:00 p.m. developing a fight / unarmed combat /shield wall combat/skits and scripts.
Trial by Death!!!

End circle of all the warriors to see who's Champion ..( basically you get bragging rights for the evening )

4:30 p.m. Talks from the trainers and Q&A on training.

5:00 p.m. End of the day time to relax and reflect back on what you have learned.

7:30 p.m. Round the campfire ....What to wear and not to wear as a Viking

This will be followed by stories of all sorts around the campfire and a lovely evening with vikings

SUNDAY!!!

10.00 a.m Muster .. In full kit once more !!

10:00 a.m. L.H. crafts continue.

Your assessments start ...NOW !!

12.30 break for lunch

1:30 p.m. More Combat Tests

2.30 pm How to rough up Non combatants and get away with it!
( they do get to hit you back ya know !)

3:00 p.m. Scripted fights and skits and combat games

5:00 p.m. A word from our organizers.

The Evening is yours ....

MONDAY

9:30 p.m. Tie up end lose ends that need be..

Pack up CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF ...Go home !!

oh wow. I just just want to camp with some buddies and do some fighting. Is this very detailed itinerary mandatory? because there is nothing on there I need. I don't want to be a stick in the mud cuse You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this plan; can I just come and watch?

You can come along and help out..and watch.
Would also need warriors to go up against those being assessed through out the day.
